Small Detail From An Indian Movie Do You Love

1] Rang De Basanti
The broken watch of Sue’s grandfather seems to have stopped at 7:30 pm , although it may not appear to have any meaning behind it , but this was deliberately done to show the exact time of Bhagat Singh’s hanging at 7: 30 pm on 23rd march 1931!

2] Gangs Of Wasseypur
The following screenshot is from a scene set shortly after post independence era , where Shahid Khan meets Ramadhir Singh for the first time, along with Sardar Khan ( played by Manoj Bajpayee later on in the movie ) . In the background , an inscription is written “ God save the Queen “ , which is the national anthem of Britain , indicating the remains of British rule in India.
(But then , such amount of detail is expected from Anurag Kashyap. I personally consider Gangs of Wasseypur as India’s version of the Godfather , in some ways.)

3] Lagaan
In this epic historic sports drama, Lagaan, where Aamir Khan’s team has to play against the British team , Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) brings in Kachra (Aditya Lakhia) who can bowl spinners into the first day of the match only to find out that he has lost his ability to spin the ball and that leaves both the characters baffled.
Behind this scene , an extreme attention to detail is at work , which cricket lovers might have noticed : New cricket balls do not spin very well as worn down ones ! ( which the team had been earlier practicing with ).
